Beaker

These classic shaped vessels with decorative prunts are made by our talented team of glassblowers.

The principal products of the northern forest glasshouses were window glass and large drinking vessels. Some of these beakers were of immense size, attesting to the notorious capacity of the users. The beakers had small knobs, called prunts, on the surface to allow a firm grip; the drinker's hands were apt to be greasy inasmuch as forks and napkins had not yet come into popular use.

These vessels are handblown by our talented studio glassblowing team and 100% of the proceeds support WSG programming.
