Roemer

These historically inspired drinking vessels were created by our talented glassblowing studio artists. The multi-component Roemers include a hand blown "foot", decorative prunts, and wraps.

Roemers (Dutch) or Römer (German) are a type of wine and beer glass that evolved in the Rhineland and the Netherlands from the 17th Century and were large drinking-glasses studded with prunts to ensure a safe grip.

They lacked the flared bowl of the Berkemeyer and had much thinner walls. The hollow base was built up by coiling strands of molten glass around a conical core.

These vessels are hand blown by our talented studio glassblowing team and 100% of the proceeds support WSG programming.
