Blown glass has been around for several thousand years, but having a catalogue of colors the “fit” the coefficient of expansion of our clear glass is a fairly new invention. This course will cover several different ways to incorporate flat, sheet glass in blown vessels. Some of the techniques include pattern bar, roll ups, and red iron oxide decals.
Prerequisite: Glassblowing 4. Bring your own SYSTEM 96 flat glass color and a lunch.
*Images feature a collaboration with Robin Kittleson and Eli Zilke. Robin's fused panel was used as a roll-up and blown into a vessel. One of the methods that will be introduced in this class.
