Wire Wrapping Techniques & Jewelry Design

Instructor: Donna Sauers

Have you taken beadmaking classes and have a collection of colorful and decorative glass "gems". Now what will you do with your lovely beads?

Join jewelry artist Donna Sauers in the studio to transform your glass beads using wire into wearable art. Donna has over 15 years of experience as a jewelry and flameworking artist. Her work is represented in galleries and boutiques in addition to exhibiting at fine art shows.

Whether you are a beginner or have dabbled in a bit of jewelry making this class is for you! Class will cover everything you need to know including: tools, wire gauges, wire-wrapping techniques, and construction of various components. You will use your skills to create pieces with your beads including earrings. This class is perfect for students who want to create designs with beads they have made. Instruction includes elements of design and color.

Bring your favorite glass beads and/or enamel pieces for creating jewelry. Tools will be provided to use in class but if you have your favorite pliers and flush cutters you may want to bring them. Accent beads will be on hand that you may use if desired.

Note: This class is designed to provide skills and create jewelry with beads (or elements with holes). Skills may be applied to "wrapping" pieces without holes but focus will be on construction of jewelry with beads.

No experience required. Bring some of your own beads and a sketchbook. Materials will be provided and accent beads will be available.
