Dorris Akers Gallery

THE DORRIS AKERS GALLERY

The Dorris Akers Gallery, located in the historic Hinkley Building, proudly represents the talented artists, instructors, and staff who create their work in the Water Street Glassworks studios. The gallery showcases the fire arts, including blown glass, fused glass, enamel and lampwork jewelry, mosaics, and stained glass.

Curated seasonally, the gallery is always evolving—offering something fresh and new with each visit. In addition to individual artist work, the gallery features seasonal production items created by Water Street Glassworks glass artists, with 100% of proceeds supporting the school and its programs.

Every purchase supports our artists and helps keep the fires burning, with a portion of gallery sales directly benefiting Water Street Glassworks programs and community initiatives.

Limited Edition Collections

Throughout the year our studio artists create limited edition collections as part of our fundraising efforts. 100% of the proceeds from these items support Water Street Glassworks programs. Our collections include Fall Pumpkins, Holiday Ornaments, Summer Garden art and seasonal items, and Mugs for our Hot Glass Cold Beer Event.

Special Events

Join us for special events throughout the year! We host several events including trunk shows, artist exhibits, open houses and participate in community events including the BHAA's Art Hops. We love to share our passion for glass and most of our events include glassblowing demonstrations where you can observe our talented team from the catwalk or up-close from the floor of the hot shop. Follow us on Facebook and sign up for our newsletter so you won't miss the excitement. Visit Upcoming Events>

Remembering Dorris

It is with great sadness that the Board of Directors and staff of Water Street Glassworks remember Dorris Akers, our first Executive Director. We are forever grateful for her leadership, creativity, and the lasting impact she made on our organization and the community we serve.
