Dorris Akers Gallery

The Dorris Akers Gallery

The Dorris Akers Gallery is located in the Historic Hinkley Building. We are proud to represent talented artists, instructors, and staff who create their work in the Water Street Glassworks studios. The gallery features the "fire arts" including blown glass, fused glass, enamel and lampwork jewelry, and metal sculptures. The gallery is curated for the seasons and there is always something fresh and new. Sales from our gallery help keep the fires burning and a portion of your purchase goes towards Water Street Glassworks programming.

Limited Edition Collections

Throughout the year our studio artists create limited edition collections as part of our fundraising efforts. 100% of the proceeds from these items support Water Street Glassworks programs. Our collections include Fall Pumpkins, Ornaments, Spring Flowers, and Mugs for our Hot Glass Cold Beer Event.

Pay it Forward - Fired Up! Collection

Students in the Fired Up! After School Program work with our instructors to create pieces for the gallery and 100% of their sales of production work is reinvested into the program. The teens are very proud of this “pay it forward” aspect of the program and set a goal of seating one new student in the program annually. Learn more about Fired Up!>>

Special Events

Join us for special events throughout the year! We host several events including trunk shows, artist exhibits, open houses and participate in community events including the NTAA's Art Hops. We love to share our passion for glass and most of our events include glassblowing demonstrations where you can observe our talented team from the catwalk or up-close from the floor of the hot shop. Follow us on Facebook and sign up for our newsletter so you won't miss the excitement. Visit Upcoming Events>>
