This hands-on course offers an introduction to the art of glassblowing, designed specifically for beginners. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, you’ll learn foundational skills and techniques for gathering, shaping, and manipulating molten glass into vessels.

Demonstrations and instructor feedback will enhance your learning, while collaborative studio work will provide valuable practice. You’ll work in teams—an essential part of maintaining both efficiency and safety in the hot shop—giving you a true feel for the rhythm of a professional glassblowing studio.

No experience required. Ages 15+. All materials provided.

Projects made during this class will be picked up at a later date.  WSG staff will contact students when projects are ready for pick-up.

THE FOLLOWING SAFETY PRECAUTIONS APPLY TO ALL ARTISTS AND STUDENTS IN ALL WATER STREET GLASSWORKS CLASSES AND STUDIOS, REGARDELSS OF EXPERIENCE:

  • Long pants/jeans are required. No Shorts.
  • Wear only natural fiber fabrics; 100% cotton is recommended.
  • Wear closed toed, non-skid shoes and socks. No sandals.
  • Wear long sleeved shirts or short sleeves with arm protection. Kevlar sleeves are provided.
  • Long hair must be tied back

Cancellations made at least one week prior to the class will be fully refunded. Cancellations made the week of the class will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the class will not be refunded.
