Micro Mosaic Murrini

Dive into the intricate world of pattern-making in glass! In this class, students will create their own custom murrini using traditional flameworking techniques.

Begin by pulling solid rod into fine stringer to build your personal color palette. Working inside a glass tube, you’ll carefully stack and arrange the stringer into detailed patterns and designs. Once complete, the piece is reheated, air gaps are compressed, and the tube is pulled down to size. Finally, it’s sliced to reveal your finished murrini—each one a miniature work of art.

This technique opens the door to creating imagery, lettering, and highly detailed patterns in glass.

Prerequisite: Completion of GB3 is required for participation.
