Dots R Us! with Todd Knight

We are thrilled to welcome Todd Knight as the first featured artist in the launch of our Visiting Artist Series.

Dots are everywhere in glass — from playful surface decoration to intricate pattern work. In this flameworking workshop with visiting artist Todd Knight, students will explore techniques for creating and controlling dots while learning how placement, spacing, layering, and heat can dramatically impact design. Through demonstrations and hands-on instruction, participants will experiment with color, movement, and composition to create beads rich in texture and visual interest.

Ideal for students looking to strengthen foundational skills while expanding their creative approach to beadmaking.

Prerequisite: Beyond the Basics bead course. All materials provided.

Todd Knight
Originally a Detroit native and performing artist, Knight discovered glass at the Ox-Bow School of Art in 2000. What began as a single class quickly grew into a lifelong pursuit, leading him to study glassblowing and casting across Michigan—including at Water Street Glassworks.
