Plunger Pickup Technique
This class explores a different orientation of the classic roll-up technique to achieve a more horizontal aesthetic using cane and murrini. Students will learn to blow a shallow “bell” shape that spans the full length and width of the pattern.
Once established, the pattern is reheated and compressed before the bell is brought vertical, connected to the pattern, and excess glass is trimmed away. Students can expect to complete one finished piece during the class while gaining a valuable new approach to add to their roll-up skill set.
Prerequisite: Glassblowing 3.
