NEW! Reverse Axis Technique: Advanced Glassblowing - Sat & Sun (March 14 & 15)

Sunday: February 22
10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Instructor: Eli Zilke

Reverse Axis Technique

In this class, students will focus on developing surface patterns using the roll-up technique. Once the patterned bubble is established, students will cut an opening through the side of the form and attach a new blowpipe at that point. The piece is then transferred, and the original neck is closed, reversing the working axis of the vessel.

This process allows patterns to shift direction and move in unexpected ways, creating dynamic visual results. Students should arrive with prepared cane and murrini, as time will not be allotted for pulling these components during class.

Prerequisite: Glassblowing 3.
