Tours & Demos

Water Street Glassworks is located in the historic Hinkley Building in the Benton Harbor Arts District. Visitors can overlook the school’s “hot shop”– the glassblowing and casting studio from a viewing platform or “catwalk”, see classes in session or experience live glass demonstrations.

TOURS & DEMOS

Great for school groups or organizations, the WSG tours and demos are a great way to learn about our studios and see artists in action! All tours and demos must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. Please contact the WSG office (269.925.5555) for more information and to check availability.

Tours - Learn about the process and science of glassblowing, hear about the history of the Hinkley Building and the renovation process that has made it an anchor in the Arts District, and tour the various studios. A wonderful introduction to WSG and the fire arts with a 30-minute tour of our studios.

Demos-

  • Glassblowing Demo: $50 (25 people MAX) - includes a 30-minute in-studio demonstration and q&a period.
  • Beadmaking/Flameworking Demo: $35 (8 people MAX) - Includes a 30-minute in-stuido demonstration and q&a period
  • Mobile Beadmaking/Flameworking Demo: $50/hour (from arrival/set-up to tear down) - WSG instructors will set up our mobile station at your event and use flameworking torches to create stunning beads while explaining the process, interacting with attendees and answering questions.

Please note that our glassblowing studio is closed June - August so we are unable to offer demos during that time. Beadmaking/Flameworking demos are available throughout the year.
