Experience Glass! Create a Millefiori Glass Paperweight
Experience the beauty of a classic glassmaking technique in this hands-on class focused on creating traditional millefiori paperweights. In this 30-minute workshop, students will work with colorful pre-made millefiori cane, carefully arranging intricate floral and geometric patterns before encasing them in clear molten glass. Through this process, you’ll learn how historical Venetian techniques are used to build depth, symmetry, and visual richness within a solid form.
The result is a timeless paperweight that showcases the precision, color, and craftsmanship that millefiori is known for—perfect as a keepsake or a one-of-a-kind gift.
This experience is perfect for beginners and offers a fun, engaging introduction to the world of glassblowing.
Please Note: Projects made during this experience will be picked up at a later date. WSG staff will contact students when projects are ready to be picked up.
No experience required. Ages 12+. All materials provided.
THE FOLLOWING SAFETY PRECAUTIONS APPLY TO ALL ARTISTS AND STUDENTS IN ALL WATER STREET GLASSWORKS CLASSES AND STUDIOS, REGARDELSS OF EXPERIENCE:
- Long pants/jeans are required. No Shorts.
- Wear only natural fiber fabrics; 100% cotton is recommended.
- Wear closed toed, non-skid shoes and socks. No sandals.
- Wear long sleeved shirts or short sleeves with arm protection. Kevlar sleeves are provided.
- Long hair must be tied back
Please Note: Cancellations made at least one week prior to the class session will be fully refunded. Cancellations made the week of the class session will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the class session will not be refunded.
